I am not getting much at all, only brief conversations in the morning about locking up & only hearing Charlie call signs, this morning at about 8 I herd them talking quite casually with no call signs "10-4, see you tomorrow" & reply "no I am not in tomorrow" then "OK mate, see you Saturday"

To me it sounds like I am getting a cleaning crew going home after a night shift... my monitoring position is on the northern side of Penrith using a handheld scanner & on the second story of our building, the reception is a little weak, so i have to move the scanner around a bit to hear, the last couple of days I have been around the Southern side of Penriff for lunch & have not heard anything.

Another possibility is Rouse Hill Shopping Centre.

Has most the stores mentioned, such as Bing Lee, Target, Coles, Gold Buyers, but does not have Video Ezy according to the store directory. Of course one could have opened recently and the directory has not been updated.

I have the Dick Smith kit of the similar design!... not working but, I put it together & used it once then decided to rework it & build the antenna switcher into a diecast box.... well that was over 15 years ago, now have no antenna's, no cables & the unit is in the bottom of a box :roll:

Doppler - too easy, this is how it was done in the old days when I first started scanning 30 plus years ago. Before frequency guides, pure detective work.

Anyway, maintenance just mentioned Millers Fashion. Rhodes does not have a Millers, but Rouse Hill does. I am now 99 percent certain it is Rouse Hill. The one percent is the lack or apparent lack of a Video Ezy.

The plot thickens! last night when driving thru Penriff doing my Thursday night shopping I heard a strong signal with a 151.4 tone, then going up old Bathurst rd at East Blaxland heard a signal with 69.3 tone, then this morning thru Penrith heard the 151.4 with "Charlie One, commencing surveillance below Lake view" or similar.

Turns out Panthers is also using this frequency, thought it was familar... :roll:

Could it be the new Top Ryde shopping mall which was officially opened yesterday? I was there yesterday chasing Gillard around and they had their spanking new security detail out in force.

No, it's not Top Ryde, ACMA shows their TX freqs as;
493.5250000 MHz 10K1F3E Bevillesta Pty Limited (1147483) 1915445
494.2000000 MHz 10K1F3E Bevillesta Pty Limited (1147483) 1915446

I'm surprised such a large complex has only 2 frequencies assigned to it :?: But I do know the Centro shopping centre security use their freqs at differing sites to what is listed on ACMA.

Top Ryde might be the TRBO customer that i am hearing on 493.525 Mhz rather than the pub in the city

I don't suppose old carrot-top's 'men in black' would have been using the GRN (being feds) would they?
