SELCAL decoding software

Post by rustynswrail » Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:58 pm

Drawing on our collection knowledge, anyone have or know of a software pachage that can decode the various selcal systems used on communications systems? Things like CCIR, ZVEI etc.

If so let me know please.

See if scanscope can do what you need Russell, I think from memory it has a 21 or 28 day free trial period:

Looking at the protocol on Wikipedia it looks really simple!

The fun thing about selcall systems is that there's no real standardisation other than tone frequencies. The radios themselves let you do all kinds of bizarre things, and the users and vendors have a habit of taking advantage of that.

There was WinTone many years ago but that only worked on Win95/98. It worked quite well and did all the various SELCAL and DTMF.
