Re: And so it starts...

Andrew,

I don't think they do, one would think the XTS / XTL series must be near the end on there life.

Re: Anyone interested?

they will do 477 with some software "help", specs are usually ok on most radio's, but you will get the odd one that doesn't co-operate.

Obviously they are no longer "legal" if you mod them.

Re: Good Antenna for the Car

If you have room for two antenna's go both a UHF 1/4 wave or phasemaster if you want some gain (GID if you need it) for UHF and a stainless whip for air (VHF) cut to lenght. Then use a power divider (avaliable from clarke and severn) to couple them, the 3dB loss of the power divider will still be be...

Re: Digital system to expand...

I have been told the early Motorola Sabre's would do midband.

Never seen one. have found several references on the web to it however.

I don't play with Simoco much but does the P25 option in the SRM9000 apply to midband ?

Re: IP over Microwave

Criten, Unfortunately playing with radio is never cheap, and often a struggle for a community groups. To avoid ongoing license costs you could look at a class licensed ISM (often referred to as unlicensed). Re: WTB Radio with discriminator out or Winradio

I have an old Winradio 1000i

It works well decoded the old 4.1 Smartzone system CC ok. Have not tried any P25 on it but I can't see why it wouldn't

Only bummer is it's an ISA interfrace to the PC

Make me an offer
