Re: Laughable article on criminals accessing NSW police radi
I wonder if the portable actually worked on the police network or was it just a stolen one that they had zapped making it inoperable? I know there is a pretty good system in place where by all equipment is checked regularly and anything missing is jumped on fairly quickly. I'd say they would of had ...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Good work Andrew. Yep they are obviously getting those coverage issues for nswpf sorted. A number of those new sites will fill the coverage issues nicely. Oh and fyi LHI is not linked to vkg or any channel. It's been encrypted for years. But as it's only a one man station i wouldn't have thought it ...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Just came across this on the nsw telco website. Interesting reading especially the part where nsw police assistant commissioner Stewart indicates nsw police will trial the grn in the north of the state after the north coast upgrade? Atleast thats how it reads to me. http://www.telco.nsw.gov.au/sites...

Re: VKG VHF Low
That info must be old the only channel's with VHF are, Q,Y and Z, the Tamworth vkg channels, the rest of the state is uhf encrypted. But Vhf is to be phased out by end of 2019 with uhf then encrypted. It works fairly well up here in the northern tablelands especially in the remote areas, but call qu...

Re: Sydney Basin
This has something to do with reengineering. I dont remember the details but one of these two channels was done away with. Cant remember if it was foxtrot or echo. But when Burwood and Ashfield merged to be burwood Pac and Marrickville and newtown became inner west Pac,There was a bit of channel jug...

Re: VKG Rebroadcast/VHF Low
Mike. I have no idea, I think at this stage its just to upgrade the entire communications network so its the same state wide. Then one day, probably years and years away, they will switch to the Grn. But the cops like having there own network so I guess they will try and hold off as long as they can.

Re: VKG Rebroadcast/VHF Low
Exactly what cartman said. No chance of getting anything except if you are lucky to pick something up through a gap in the blue mountains from lithgow or oberon. 1st of July this year is when the change over is going to start for the 3 channel's Q,Y and Z. It will b a 18 month program to change from...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
I think the police sites at eugowra and mt coonambro on the grn are a mistake, im thinking they put the new licence on the wrong site, theres 2 sites at mt coonambro, 1 grn and the other is the police site. Police Sites at cobar, walget, naromine and needle mountain came up on the 5th all with the s...
