Used to do a lot of AM band DX with my little portable am only radio when I was about 10yr old (33yrs ago :roll: ), I would stay up late on hot Summer nights & turn my little radio around so the ferrite rod antenna was picking stations from differnt directions, I even kept a logbook of the stations ...

At my work we get heaps of false alarms (mostly fire sensor beams being cut by scaffolding etc) & they are called out at least 5 times a year :roll: Last week we had another false alarm which turned out to be somebody filling a bucket of hot water in a sink which had a sensor right above it :roll: (...

Imagine if somebody was calling you, there would be a mad scramble to find which radio/microphone to us, then you would have a crash! :lol:

Yes, I believe they even had radio tracking trucks to drive down the street & pick up stray rf from the receiver if stages & fine you if you were not licenced... bit hard to do that these days!

http://www.wintermagic.com.au Basically the whole street is closed off and they have parades where fereals dress normally and strutt their ugly stuff... Oh and every pub in town gets packed out. They had by my count 18 radio users on CB Ch 37... Maybe somebody should email the organisers & tell the...
