Thought I would use this old thread.
Far South Coast (Bega and Eurobodalla) are now on the Central Dispatch system. Needless to say the channel is a lot busier. They are still using digital PMR.

Re: New FRNSW Incident/Fireground (TASK) Frequencies?
Just occurred to me that FRNSW has been using A510 here for a while, I think they might have used D510 a couple of times but for a fair while I have heard them use Analogue

Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix
Funny STP is mentioned, I heard what sounded like STP/T Bombala 230 coming down to Bega 219 a week or so ago, From memory it was a grass fire and they had to standby at Bega. I think they got called off before arriving at Bega
I thought I had misheard the callsign and had forgotten about it.

Re: New PF radio sites licenced
I had forgotten about the KJ callsign, many years ago the cars always used to say "KJ Southern Ops" down this way.

Re: NSW RFS Pager Capcodes
What's the use of Telstra mobile when it's pathetic and won't work when needed for tracking? . True, good point. There us a bridge setup in one of the control centers joining the separated North and South groups (same area now but wasn't a couple of years ago pre council mergers). That bridge has a...

Re: NSW RFS Pager Capcodes
Why would you "hear" anything different? Are you already on GRN? . I could be wrong, but I thought in the Shoalhaven area they have a GRN TG to Sydney who tell the local Firecom who they have paged. I could have misunderstood that. I haven't heard anything like that down here in the far south coast...

Re: NSW RFS Pager Capcodes
Your probably right, the area was supposed to go over to the new system on the 11th but I haven't heard anything different, probably related to that.tsunami_australia wrote:Probably the intro of the new pager systems.
