Re: Harbour bridge security
In practice, it's really hard to get anything considered as such. The relevant minister needs to write to the communications minister to ask for it, and that's not the sort of thing one bothers their minister about without very good reason, and ACMA hates doing it because they store all that informa...

Re: NSWRFS to implement statewide CAD-IRS dispatching
Just hope it don't end up being a bunfight like the ACT is right now. ACT ESA are good at buying stuff just because it's being offered locally, not necessarily because it's fit for purpose or offers value for money. Re: ADS-B
Wasn't Dick Smith flagging this transmission in general aviation forums as one that needed to be encrypted between users and ATC a year or so back. I am not sure where that discussion went unfortunately. Grant The issue Dick Smith raised was that it's trivial to spoof position information in ADS-B....

Re: 80 channel allocation
Out of interest, out of the original 40 only 1-10 and 35-40 really got much use as far as I could tell. If you want to not be bothered on UHF CB, pick something around the 20's.
I might do another little utilisation study in future and post the plots here, when I'm in Australia for a change.

In all fairness I'm surrounded by hills in the Tuggeranong valley. If it's much further north than Mt Taylor I'm unlikely to see it.
