Re: Cruise ship comms
Actually these are FCC allocated for US flagged vessels, rather than being allocated internationally by ITU like the VHF channels, but vessels flagged from other countries often also use them.Garry wrote:they are a worldwide shipping allocation

Re: Mexico's Cartels build own National Radio System
Some of the cartel systems are pretty well specced. MOTOTRBO and NXDN with crypto, occasionally some LTR trunking and the like too.

Re: The times they are a changing
Most of the assessments and conclusions Yaesu made in that document are pretty bizarre and poorly founded. Not to mention the really silly typos.

Re: Parademic dies during canyoning rescue (Carrington Falls
An absolute tragedy for all involved
The Australian's headline for their article covering this was just plain offensive. "Veteran paramedic killed in botched canyon rescue."

Vertex Standard maybe? Benelec used to flog them in Australia with Benelec branding, don't know if they still do.

Re: VIC MMR tracking with DTS96/PRO96
There's no need for ASKs for each system to enable roaming between ISSI linked P25 systems. As an example, say you've got the GRN, and it's linked to MMR. You get off the plane and fire up your GRN radio. It does a full spectrum scan for control channels, it finds MMR advertising the same WACN ID, g...

Re: VIC MMR tracking with DTS96/PRO96
Seamless roaming is possible between P25 systems, but whether Motorola's current infrastructure can support it is another matter, and to my knowledge it's not implemented on any systems in Australia yet. Not doable for SA at this stage of course, their system is still Type II. The P25 ISSI specifica...
