Re: RFS Blue Mountains

*face palm*

Didn't even realise P240 was used in this area. I'll have to scan for it.

Only aircraft and senior staff on the GRN. Otherwise its just 462.9 and FG chans.

NSWFR were active on what they call channels 509 & 609 today. They were calling it "fire ground" but had a radio operator from syd comms.

Re: Hawkesbury RFS District going P25 PMR

I'm curious how the RFS will handle large fires. Say for example, a large fire breaks out in Hawkesbury, and units from Blue Mountains are sent in... with radios that don't support P25...

Re: Blue Mountains search

I'm told the guy was doing lines of cocaine and got cut off at the bar. After kicking over somebodies bins, how he gets lost in suburban type streets is a mystery. In my books, the guy is a douche. </2 cents>

Re: UBCD396T - Illegal Voltage

No offense to Uniden as they make a great scanner, but their in-built charging circuits have always been crap. Unitrunker via SDR

Was looking at this setup the other day... will have to give it a whirl over the next few weeks. http://public-xrp.s3.amazonaws.com/docs/sdrsharptrunk.htm One thought occurred that it could be possible to monitor 2 control channels (2 different sites) and 2 talkgroups at the same time using 4 radios...

Re: ADS-B

jaskel, do you submit to flightradar24.com ? Recently I've been toying with a RTL SDR USB stick + RTL1090 app. The cheapest ADS-B receiver to date. I just need to improve my antenna when I next get the time. Was looking at using a USB balun to put the USB stick in the roof cavity, so the coax to the...
