Re: Homepatrol Extreme 2

Hello Russell, I had one but sold it a while back. It was easy enough to use, as long as you are computer literate! Receiver performance was very, very good. I programmed it up myself, which is what I would do if I bought another one. I have been thinking about buying another one, mainly due to the ...

Re: water police

Water Police do use 27mhz and marine VHF channels sometimes, usually to communicate with boaties. They have their own digital encrypted channel for use in the Sydney area. The helicopters may could be communicating with the police launch on VHF marine or on a UHF analogue liaison channel.

Re: RTA and NSW Maritime = Roads and Maritime Services

I would say none. There is no money for anything that is not operationally imperative.

Re: Albury police

There is no VHF in South Region. Goulburn (for the Colllege) is an exception.

Re: Digital system to expand...

I'm guessing it will be everybody but Western Region will go UHF, then UHF P25. As to the west... the rumours have been around for a while but I doubt there will be P25 for a while. I can't imagine the risk-averse NSWPF going for the only VHF midband P25 system in the world!

Digital system to expand...

NSWPF are looking to expand the digital system to include Cootamundra, Goulburn, Manning Great Lakes, Mid North Coast, Far South Coast, Monaro, Tweed/Byron, and Wagga Wagga LACs. This is apparently aimed at smoothing the eventual transition to GRN. No time frame is given, but considering the current...

Re: FRNSW comms in Tamworth

Thanks Richard. That makes sense. I was particularly curious as the ambos seemed to have moved over. The only traffic the P25 site on Bald Hill is carrying is ambulance, sheriffs and some RFS.

The old chestnut... half price Golden Arches!
Uniformed emergency service personel, including police, get the discount, as do (I believe) uniformed military personel.
It is McDonalds policy world wide to do this.

FRNSW comms in Tamworth

Just wondering if FRNSW in Tamworth and the northwest will be migrating to GRN. It seems they are still using PMR at the moment, despite the area being covered by GRN.
Any ideas on what is happening?

Re: VKG Tamworth

Or staff shortages. That's the usual reason channels get moved around between centres.
