Bomber 134 and Bomber 165 doing practice runs at Richmond today. They where using 130.550Mhz for comms between aircraft, same as last year.

Re: Buses in Sydney
The majority of the private bus company's in Sydney use the Orion DMR Trunking network. There are also a few on the Vertel NXDN network.

Oldest radio scanner in daily use?
Hi all, As the title suggests I'm interested in the who has the oldest scanner in daily use? It has to work and its used any time you are in your shack (in my case daily). In my case i have some pretty old scanners most which have varying faults and they are tucked away in the cupboard, but on the s...

Re: Aircraft Using UHF CB
Kev - in all your years of experience and training, can you recall an STC (or a CASA authorised mod document) being required for a non airband radio being installed in a civil aircraft? Any modification to a "VH" registered aircraft requires the modification design to be carried out by a suitable q...

Aircraft Using UHF CB
Interesting catch today, heard two aircraft flying together talking between themselves on Ch24 UHF CB. They where both using a CTCSS tone (141.3) which would be a good idea as at altitude (i heard them say at one stage they where at 4800ft) you would hear a lot of other traffic on the channel. Regar...

Re: Hawkesbury RFS District going P25 PMR
Yes, I liked very much having my local freq in a scanner that I carried everywhere living in the bush to alert me to local fire incidents, but now that freq is constant traffic and it’s not so useful because the constant traffic makes you tune out.

Re: Hawkesbury RFS District going P25 PMR
As far as I know Mike, the RFS have been linking (combining) there different areas both PMR and GRN to a central dispatch. I only hear Hawkesbury fire comm now when there is a big incident or multiple activities across different districts that makes it too busy and they de link and revert to local f...

NXDN Programming -Whistler/Uniden
Hi all, Interested on thoughts on the programming of non trunked nxdn freq in both the TRX-1 and the UBCD436-PT. I have 30 individual NXDN simplex freq that I am trying to program.
