Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix
Thanks for the info, muchly appreciated! Seems incredible that Batemans Bay got the first one ever, but I guess someone has to get the first one. They aren't calling it "Eurobodalla TST" though, it's simply "TS217" and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated crew as the local 384 captain usually rolls ...

Re: FRNSW Appliance Callsign Prefix
There is also a "TS" or Technical Support Vehicle that isn't on the list, station 217 (Batemans Bay) has one but it's on loan to 384 (Moruya) at the moment. No idea what it actually is or does but station 384 seems to roll it with the rescue pumper on every single call they go to, wouldn't be surpri...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
Ah, okay, thanks Garry, it seems 'inferring' is not too far from 'assuming'! They must change consoles an awful lot then, I haven't counted but there would have to be dozens of these calls throughout the day. No idea why that TG would be carried on multiple sites down here either? My information may...

Re: NSW P25 GRN - Site Listing (current)
There must be a ton of new sites out west (as well as north) because there appears to be a handful of townies driving all over the state testing GRN coverage (can't remember the TG but they keep popping up saying "testing west" & "testing north" etc.) I'd infer this means a lot more rural FRNSW area...

Re: NSWPF radio now fully encrypted.
Channel Sierra consoles at Oak Flats just went over to AES this morning.

Re: NSWPF radio now fully encrypted.
Interesting... Oak Flats just handed Sierra over to Sydney VKG but the Sydney console is still TXing with the old DES key as well, so the change-over must be on a channel-by-channel basis rather than by VKG centre?

Re: NSWPF radio now fully encrypted.
As far as I can see the GRN is nowhere near ready (read: up to their standards) so it can't be that. Maybe it's just a Telco thing and all the licences are getting transferred or something?

Re: NSWPF radio now fully encrypted.
Apologies if I'm behind the 8-ball but I just noticed Channel Sierra has made the switch to AES-256 encryption with the new KID 0x2000
It appears the consoles are still TXing with the old DES-OFB algo but I expect that will change soon, they're probably just tidying-up the stragglers?

Re: Sydney GRN on Zello?
The consensus around here seems to be against "re-broadcasting" anything, monitor by all means, but the content isn't really yours to broadcast. The whole "re-broadcasting" thing is a major driving force for agencies to go encrypted, or at least a means to justify the expense, and nobody here wants ...
