NSW RFS Talkgroups
Just listening to the fires in the Lower Hunter and they told the helitaks to go over to TG42 however all the listings I've seen stop at around TG39 somewhere. Has anyone got an updated listing of GRN talkgroups for all 4 areas (especially east at least)? I've been going through bringing my GRN rx u...

NSW RFS Frequencies
Is there any official "helitak" frequencies/channels set out now or just an on the fly aviation frequency and VHF fireground channel? With the new profiles happening are there any updates yet on changes to each of the 4 regions? As far as I'm aware the only change for east is the 2 Mental Coast regi...

Re: NSW RFS Profile V10.4.3
v11 firmware, CPS &/or codeplug version?? If firmware that seems REALLY old for new radios, makes me wonder if they've had them in storage for some years before rolling them out.

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
I heard "radio bench" making a heap of calls yesterday to central dispatch so I assume reprogramming is in action for a new profile. Question ... are the radio changes happening at the same time or only reprogramming? I'm curious as well whether their upgrades intented include new 03 HHCH's or wheth...

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
ob do a database search for the frequency and see who actually still has it registered. I've heard a few business' using pirated frequencies up here including the security/cleaning of the local shopping centres.

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
The 3k’s though are likely well past their useful life. I’m surprised the RFS still use them, and would have thought they would have been replaced years ago, considering they have been unsupported by Moto for what, 5 years, and would likely be nearly 20 years old. I beg to differ there. WHY couldn'...

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
The 420meg stuff is vote groups (PMR) and has been out for a long time in most areas :). There are 2 fireground sets. The pump2hose is certainy VHF (161?) but field ops/eslo etc is 411ish meg. The FOPS channels are the same 4 frequencies repeated 4 times. First 8 entries are analogue split by tone (...

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
citabria sounds about right. Though SORN would have been re-purposed to the GRN afterward else it would be a waste. I know we've still got some XTS3000's ex Olympic in the comms room here I'm sitting in right now (3 of I think in the 6bay). Unfortunately due to government oversight and wastage rathe...

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
Hmmm media write up ... no mention of the lack of versatility or that it would allow emergency services to be left in the dark and have to rely on UHFCB like Hunter floods. https://www.itnews.com.au/news/nsw-kicks-off-next-phase-of-emergency-comms-overhaul-500341?eid=1&edate=20180817&utm_source=2018...

Re: RFS The Hills district going GRN
Worst yet just looking at the ACMA DB ... the spur up at Yarrowitch (west of Wauchope) is driven from Mt Marie so we loose them 2 sites as well. So now we are up to 70% at least of the area out of coverage especially up around the 3 brothers, Yarrowitch/Pappinbarra, Comboyne, Tipperary, Ganghat, Kra...
